UNISON to Ballot Local Government Members for Industrial Action Over Pay

UNISON TO BALLOT LOCAL GOVERNMENT MEMBERS FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION OVER PAY

The NJC Committee last week agreed that UNISON will be conducting a full industrial action ballot of our NJC members in Local Government in Cymru, England and Northern Ireland.

This results from the ‘full and final’ pay offer from Local Government employers of just £1290 on all pay points, which was rejected by the membership in a recent consultation ballot.

Our members in schools, councils, fire and rescue authorities, national parks and outsourced services across Cymru are rightly angry and we need members to harness that anger by voting to reject the offer that does nothing to pay the bills, reward their hard work much less deal with the recruitment and retention of critical LG workers across Cymru.

The NJC Pay Industrial Action ballot is a critical step to achieve pay justice for members and their families.

The balloting period, will run from September 4th – October 16th
