Annual General Meeting: Reminder and final agenda

This year’s UNISON AGM is just a week away

There will be a series of meetings held online between 22nd and 26th March 2021

This is the most important meeting on the branch calendar, and we are not going to let a little thing like lockdown stop us.

The Annual General Meeting is the ultimate decision-making body within the branch and is an opportunity for members to have their say, hold the Branch Committee to account and help shape the future direction of the branch for the next twelve months

The agenda has been published and is available to download here.

The meeting will elect your Branch Officers, Representatives and ratify the election of Workplace Stewards for the forthcoming year. The list of posts, nominations received, and vacant posts is on the paperwork in which can be downloaded from our website

Stewards’ nominations will be ratified at the branch AGM in March 2021.

The meeting will vote on the branch charity for the year, we have had three nominations this year

  • There for you (UNISON’s own Welfare Charity)
  • Central Beacons Mountain Rescue (what it says on the tin)
  • Cefn Fforest Miners Hall (restoration of former Miners Institute and setting up of community hub)
  • Pancreatic Cancer Wales (funding research for a cure)

You will find more details of each of the charities in the paperwork attached to the agenda, which cn be downloaded from our websiteWe will automatically donate £500 to There for You. We then have another £500 to donate. The meeting will decide if it wants to the £500 to go to one charity or for it to be split between two or even all three of the other nominated charities – and which charities to support.
